🎙️ Our Story
Four years ago, I started Variety Vibes Radio as a mainstream radio station. I used to DJ and wanted to get back into it after moving to Oregon. Since I didn’t know anyone here, I started the station as a way to reconnect with the music world.
Within a month, I met so many incredible indie artists through Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Clubhouse, and Snapchat that I decided to turn Variety Vibes into a station dedicated entirely to independent artists from all around the world — for free.
I began promoting artists and brands across social media, offering interviews, and building a community that celebrated creativity, collaboration, and good vibes.
Two years ago, I started a new job and was offered a management position within three weeks. While I was grateful for the opportunity, the long hours made it hard to run the station like before. After paying for the station out of pocket for two years without any income, it eventually became too much to maintain.
I miss the radio station and all the amazing people I met along the way. I built something special — a platform for indie artists that deserves to shine again. That’s why I’m working to bring Variety Vibes Radio back, with the help and support of the community that made it what it was.
Statement of Use for Donation Funds
The funds from the donation will be used to support key operational expenses for our media initiatives. Specifically, they will cover the annual costs for the following services:
Radio Platform (LLC)
BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) Licensing
Website Hosting and Maintenance
Broadcasting Video Platform
This support will allow us to pay for these critical components up front for an entire year, ensuring uninterrupted service and sustainability of our programming.
I also set up timed playlists for new artists so their music could be played regularly and reach new listeners.
I made sure artists who supported the station got regular airplay — their tracks were featured every hour as a thank-you for showing love.
Offered free EPKs, artist profiles, and a video section on the website to help artists get noticed.
Had music review rooms on Clubhouse and live jam sessions where I DJ’d indie artists’ music.
